8 – 10 April 2016
Leeds College of Music, Quarry Hill Leeds LS2 7PD

After more than 30 years of highly successful summer music schools, currently at Queenswood School, Hertfordshire, and in response to requests from our regular course members, New London Music Society has come to Leeds.  Leeds College of Music, in the heart of the city centre, has been the venue for the NLMS String Quartet Courses.

Based on the resounding success of its first year, NLMS staged a second course, once again at Leeds College of Music, in April 2015, targeted at string players. It was extremely well-received and so the Society will be running a third course for 2016, on 8th – 10th April.

The course offers pre-formed string quartets the opportunity to be coached by the highly-experienced members of the Bingham String Quartet.

Additionally we offer individual string players the chance to play in group quartets, to be led by experienced teacher and player Cathy Fox.

Comments from the 2015 course were very positive:

  • ‘the hotel was fantastic’
  • ‘the catering both at the hotel and Leeds College of Music was outstanding’
  • ‘the coaching was brilliant’
  • ‘brilliant rehearsal spaces’
  • ‘the administration was fantastic and very helpful’
